I stamped a couple of the ducks and colored them with my Copic markers. I used a white gel pen to add some details on the umbrella, hat and a few other places. I cut them out so they would be ready for my card.
I wanted a rainy background so I used 3 Distress Oxide inks and a cloud stencil from My Favorite Things. This makes it pretty easy to get the rounded edges to resemble clouds. The different ink colors give it some depth. When I was finished I sprinkled some large water droplets on the panel and then let it dry. This particular ink reacts to water and even though it's subtle you get that effect.
After stamping the sentiment with black ink and using clear embossing powder the panel was ready for the duck. I popped him up with some foam. I decided on a black card base to really set off the strong colors. I think it looks great!
I wanted to show you the contrast of the exact same card but using different background papers when I took the photos. So, all you who are reading this, YOU make my rainy days brighter.
