Card #2

Sympathy cards are never in the fun category but they are still necessary, at least for a while yet.  On a white card base, I die cut a stitched panel of pretty flower paper.  I used another paper with a wood look design for a narrower panel.  The papers and sticker are part of the SSS March card kit.  I have a die that cuts the "prayers" word and I wanted to make it stand out.  I used a product called adhesive sheets.

It's thin paper with sticky adhesive on both sides.  I adhered a piece of foam to one of the sheets and used the die to cut out the word.  Instantly I had an intricate die word made out of foam.  I peeled off one side of the adhesive and put a black die cut on top the foam.  Then I peeled the adhesive off the back of the foam and affixed it to the front of the card.

You can see the dimension and strong effect that I wanted.  In hindsight I would have used black foam but I'll do it next time.  I heat embossed a sentiment onto a black cardstock strip and popped it up with foam too.

I left the inside very subtle for writing a message.  So that's my second card using supplies from the card kit.  There's more to come so look in again tomorrow.  Thanks!
