My Favorite Things is sponsoring Camp Create 2017. I really enjoyed this last year so I wanted to participate in this week's activities. The theme for today is Wonderful Watercolor. I was excited to get out my paints and inks as it's been awhile. Here's my card.
I used some new watercolor paper made by Canson. My local Michael's store carries a nice selection of artist quality papers. It's good for me because I take my time with the water and paint. This paper seems to hold up well and doesn't pill, especially when I need to go over and over an area. So I made a little scene here with some grass and sky. While the background was drying, I stamped the flowers and leaves on the same paper. Since the surface of the paper is not smooth I used my Misti tool. What a lifesaver. Then I colored them with my Zig Clean Color Brush Markers. They are basically a blend of ink color and water with a fine tip brush. Love how easy these are to work with.
You can't really see from this photo but I covered the flowers and leaves with clear Wink of Stella shimmer pen. Sparkle, sparkle, sparkle. I also love the nice bold, scripty font of the sentiment.
Camp Create actually started Monday so I'm getting a slow start but I am still eligible for today's craft badge. Tomorrow's post will highlight Day 2. You can head on over to MFT's blog to read all the details and see lots of inspiring creations. Thanks for stopping by!
