Spectacular Shakers

It's Day 3 of Camp Create at My Favorite Things.  As the title implies, it's all about shaker cards.  These have been popular for awhile now, and it's even easier to create shakers with new products that simplify the process.  For instance, MFT has shaker pouches in round, square and heart shapes.  These are clear semi-soft plastic shapes that hold sequins, buttons, mini die cuts or even tiny toys.  There are matching dies that cut holes in the cardstock just the right size for the plastic shapes.  And finally, a die that cuts an outer layer of cardstock so that you don't see the edges of the plastic when the shaker is complete.

See how the shaker element is the focus of the card.  And by the way, did you notice the flower in the center is from, drum roll please, Doodled Blooms stamp set, the same one I used for Day 1 and Day 2.  I chose a white card base to center my rounded rectangle panel.  It's a piece of Tim Holtz' woodgrain distress cardstock.  Doesn't it look like an old barn board?  I covered it with a medium gray ink and it has that white washed look.

Here's a close up of the shaker.  I have a lot of these pretty seed beads and I colored the flower to match.  Finally, I found the perfect sentiment that seems to pun the distress woodgrain cardstock.

I love it!  So, would you agree that I earned the camp badge for today?  I'm proudly displaying it for you.

Gotta finish out the week.  See you tomorrow!
