Remarkable Resist

I'm back today showcasing Day 2 of Camp Create with My Favorite Things.  Here's the badge I earned for my project.

The theme for today is Remarkable Resist.  This is basically stamping and then using a heat gun and powder that's made to melt into the paper.  It's almost instant and gives a shiny, raised effect that you can then color with markers, ink or paint.

Do you recognize the flowers?  Yep, it's the same Doodled Blooms stamp that I used yesterday.  I still had it out on my table so I decided to use it again for today's camp creation.  It looks totally different though because of the way I colored the flowers and the card design.  I embossed the flowers with black powder and that gave me a nice outline and surface to work on.

The leaves from Doodled Blooms didn't fit the style of my design so I chose to use Layered Leaves dies.  This set includes both a solid leaf and a cut overlay.  You can use them together or separately, making these dies a really good value.  I went in the design direction of black and white, and I love it so much.  It's a departure from the regular cards I make and maybe that's another reason it turned out so well.  The sentiment from More Essential Sentiments fit perfectly with the happy flowers.

Time to get some rest from Camp Create so I'll be fresh and ready for Day 3.  It's fun to look through all the cards made by other campers.  Be sure to check out Day 2's projects on the MFT Blog for lots more inspiration.  I think it's time for a nap now.
