Camp Create sponsored by My Favorite Things has topped off the week with a Bonfire Challenge. Participants need to create a project with the dry embossing technique. This really is just using a die cut to emboss the cardstock instead of cutting the paper.
I started with a 5" x 5" square card base using a natural paper with some flecks of raw fibers running through it. I sponged on some Distress Ink. Fired Brick, Spiced Marmalade and a touch of Vintage Photo. I had MFT's Quilt Square Cover Up and thought it would show up the embossing very nicely. I kept it simple by choosing a sentiment from an old MFT set Pure Innocence Lily of the Valley. This was a flower series for each month of the year, this one was May.
This card is actually much prettier than the photos show. The soft colors and detailed embossing look like an actual quilt square. And the sentiment reflects the warmth and feeling that a real quilt gives.
