Mosaic Star

I was playing with some of my supplies and came across a mosaic star die from Simon Says Stamp.  I also wanted to do some ink blending so a card design began to form in my mind.

After die cutting the star from gray cardstock I heat embossed a sentiment with white powder.  I grabbed a scrap of smooth white Bristol paper and combined Faded Jeans and Chipped Sapphire Distress inks for the panel behind the star cut out.  I also die cut several stars from complimentary cardstock colors and adhered them to the front.  One of the navy stars was covered in Glossy Accents.  A strand of pretty silver cord was wound around the gray panel before I finally attached it to a white card base.

I think this card design would be good for a congratulations card too.  Here's a photo of a variation of the same design.

This time I added a bit of Seedless Preserves to the inked panel and it gives a purple hue when mixed with the blues.  I chose a silver ribbon and tied it in a knot.  The stitched panel was added to a gray cardstock base.

Hope you have a wonderful starry day!
