Sparkle Chiara

I'm so excited that I have finished another Julie Nutting doll page.

This doll is dressed in clothes that remind me of a party.  I started with a 12 x 12 paper from Bo Bunny called Welcome Home.  It has this great chandelier and I thought it would be perfect for my theme.  Here's how the paper looked originally.

I felt like it needed distressing a bit so I got out my Gelatos.

This color is Gold Champagne.  I colored over the paper quite a bit and then used a foam blending tool to even out the color.  Not only did it change the appearance of the paper but it also gave it a subtle sheen.  Here is a photo of the before and after.

A big difference!  As always, I stamped Chiara on some text paper and colored her with some neutral Copics.  Can you guess what I used for her party dress?  Gold vellum.  I stamped it with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, being careful not to smear it until it dried.  Then I cut it out and glued it to the doll.

I added her pearl party necklace and also glued on a metal bow in her hair.  I stamped an appropriate sentiment from a retired My Favorite Things stamp on the same text paper and then cut it with a label die.  I covered the entire label with Glossy Accents.

Now, I needed something to fill up the space below the chandelier.  I've used some cute animal stamps on some of my other pages but I felt like this page called for something different.  When I ran across this adorable girl stamp, also retired from My Favorite Things, I knew she was perfect.

Too too cute!  I used the same text paper and then just colored her with Copics.  I did a test with an Ochre Zig Clean Color Real Brush Marker.  I love how it made her dress looked golden and I could imitate the pleats or folds of her dress by going over the same spot several times.  I colored her hair the same as Chiara's.  The heart of her headband was colored and then covered with Glossy Accents to make it puffy.

I know, I know, I say this every time.  This is my favorite!
Thanks for playing dolls with me.
