Find The Good In Everything

My May Julie Nutting doll is named Cassandra.  She has a life formula that is not unique but certainly worth remembering.  Her kitty friend is back on this page and fits right in.

I found this wonderful pink paper and then used Picked Raspberry Distress ink and a doily stencil to create a grounded area for the doll and kitty.  In my scrap stash I came across a paper strip of hearts that fit perfectly at the top.

Like always I stamped the doll on some paper with faint text.  This creates texture for the doll and gives her some dimension.  I paper pieced her dress and made sure the flowers had pink to go with the background.  I have tons of sentiments from old My Favorite Things stamp sets.  I was amazed when I was going through them all.  I decided to layer several going down the page.

So much hate is going on in this world.  I try to be as positive as possible and really like all the individual sentiments.  When they are grouped together it makes a statement I think.  We should all try to find the good in EVERYTHING.

Watercolor Scene

I've been facinated by watercolors ever since I started to play with this technique.  This entire card is created with watercolors.

I started with creating the background using watercolor paper.  My favorite paper is Strathmore cold press 140 lb.  I love that it is textured on one side and smooth on the other.  It's heavy enough to work with lots of water and doesn't pill like some others I've tried.  I used blue and green distress inks to replicate the sky and grass.  Then I sprinkled some water droplets on it for added interest.

I stamped the cute bunny, his car and the flowers and colored them with watercolor markers.  I used matching dies to cut them out and then mounted them in the painted background.

I then watercolored another paper and cut out the rolling clouds using a die.  After stamping the sentiment the card was finished.

This happy bunny sure makes me smile!

Tiptoeing Through The Tulips

I'm sharing one of my Julie Nutting doll pages with you today.  This is my April page.  I'm catching up I promise.  So, introducing Rita.

I think she's just a DOLL.  April is such a happy spring month and I wanted to reflect that in the page.  I chose yellow paper with a small print and then sponged some sunny rays with a stencil and Distress Ink.  A large stitched die cut sun seemed appropriate also.

I cut some rolling hill strips from this pretty paper with tulips.  The reverse side had the green stripes which reminded me of grass.  I stamped some tall leaf stalks to add to the garden theme.

I (heart) her dress!  Pink and hearts together, what could be better.

The sentiment completes the page.

Big changes have been going on behind the scenes at Pink Posh Cards.  As you can see I have a new blog dress!  Isn't it just the cutest?  I had lots of help in creating this new look.  Blog Designs by Diane is responsible for all the graphics.  Diane is a wonderful person and her new business is designing blogs, watermarks, stationary, etc.  Please click on the link to read all about what she offers.

The process was pretty easy.  She has a nice questionnaire that gives her an idea of the direction you'd like for your design.  It's detailed but not too long.  I thought I knew what I wanted but the design ended up even better than I imagined.  It's like Diane read my mind.  So, visit my blog often so I can share all my card designs with you.  Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to leave me a comment.
