Recently I hosted a card party for 8 friends. We all had a blast. I had everyone bring their favorite snack or munchies and then we got down to business. At first it was sort of a free for all project. They could pick their cardstock color, stamp, embellishments, ribbons, etc. It was hard at times to keep up with all the requests for help as there were different levels of expertise but it was fast paced and fun.
Then we all worked on a card that I designed. I had done a lot of the preparation beforehand so it was easy for them to all follow along at the same time. Here's the card we put together.
The colors are Blushing Bride, Sahara Sand and Marina Mist. They got to emboss the white front panel with a flower pattern which gives the cardstock some texture. They also stamped each of the flowers and cut them with a punch. I had the tags and other paper strips ready to go.
You can see the embossing in this close up. A tiny ribbon was folded and attached to the tag before adhering the punched flowers.
A pretty design was stamped in Blushing Bride and then cut with a label die. They also stamped the sentiment and then used an oval punch for a quick addition to the top of the label. We have layers and layers on this card.
A few finishing touches, like the pearls in the center of the flowers, a strip of ribbon at the bottom to tie all the colors together, and we were done. I had a wonderful time showing my friends all the fun things you can create with paper and ink. And, I'm very grateful for the friends I have, near and far!
