I entered a challenge recently as a team member with a group who sell Stampin' Up! products. I love this company because of the way they design everything to coordinate. Paper, ink, ribbon, buttons, etc. I was given a variety of products and was to make a card making the best use of them. Here's my entry.
I was free to design the card any way I wanted. I started with a base of Night of Navy and then added a piece of the coordinating pattern paper on top. I used two ribbons and adhered them down the middle of the card. The navy ribbon matches the card stock base. It is a thin seam binding ribbon and I had some trouble with the fishtail end because it wanted to stretch and pull out of shape. I layered it over some Crushed Curry striped grosgrain ribbon. The color matches the pattern paper.
I die cut a sheet of washi tape with one of the Window framelits. The washi sheets are adhesive backed so it was easy to apply the die cut right over the ribbon. I used a scallop punch and another coordinating paper for the next layer, popping it up a little with some foam dots.
I found a stamp that matches the triangles in the paper and used Crushed Curry ink and then punched it out for the next layer. I threaded some Calypso Coral twine through a gold metal button, pulled the ends around to the back and used a glue dot to hold it in place.
See what I mean about everything coordinating. I am one of 8 people who entered the challenge. I should find out in a day or two if I won. Voting on the projects is done by the other team members. If I win, I get to choose ANY stamp set from the 2 current catalogs! I have my eye on an alphabet set, which I need. Also, it's one of the most expensive sets in the catalog, so why not when I can possibly get it FREE.
Oh by the way, you can order any Stampin' Up! products from me. Just click HERE. Thanks!
