Here's a card using a new technique I learned in my watercolor class. It's called resist embossing. Basically, you emboss an image and then watercolor on top. The paint "resists" the area that is embossed. I decided to go bold and use the beautiful image from Stampin' Up! called Swallowtail. I inked it up with Versamark. It's a sticky ink and stamps clear. I added snow white embossing powder and heat set it. Then the fun painting begins.
Isn't it striking! I probably got a little crazy with the intensity of the paint colors but in the end I like it.
It's easy to see the white melted raised powder outline of the image when the color stands out. I mixed and blended yellow, orange and red to create this artistic look.
It reminds me of the abundant sunshine colors we are having in sunny Florida. Sorry, my friends who are in the cold and snow. Hey, it's only 46 days until spring!!!
