Reverse Confetti October Sketch #17 Challenge

I've recently discovered Reverse Confetti and purchased a few stamps.  Every month they have a challenge and I decided to use the sketch they provide.  The challenge is called, Sketch For You To Try.  October is sketch #17 and looks like this.

Oct14

Pretty easy one.

SFYTT-#17-2

I started with an ivory card base 4 1/4 x 5 1/2, top folding.  I used some retro pattern paper from SU for the 2 vertical panels.  I cut an ivory tag using the smallest die from the Tag Me set.  Love how tiny it is.  I stamped 2 fishes in different colors from the Happy Harbor stamps.  I thought they looked like they were kissing, especially the way I positioned them.  I found the perfect size heart from I Like You.  I added some heavy aqua twine and made a bow.

Now comes the tricky part.  I wanted a certain wording for the sentiment so I pieced words from 2 different stamp sets.  I found "your" in the Dream In Color stamp so I cut it from the original phrase, "live your life in".  Yes, cut the stamp apart!  Then I used "kisses" and "make" from I Like You.  The finishing words "me happy" were from Dream In Color.  I put all the words on an acrylic block to stamp my sentence.

An original sentiment that works perfectly with my cute kissing fish.

Actually, making this card AND kisses make me happy!

A Fun Day of Coloring

Last Saturday I had the opportunity to take a couple of Copic coloring classes from a very talented lady.  Wendy is the owner of Sugar Pea Designs and a fantastic colorist.  Her stamps have wonderful images and are high quality.  I can speak with authority as I own a LOT of Sugar Pea stamps.  First, we colored the main image from Seaside Wishes.

Store--Seaside-Wishes

Ok, she is my fav.  Just how I would like to look on the beach.  Long flowing hair, a thin body, cute bare toes.  You get the idea.  Here is my coloring attempt.

SSW-1

I took advantage of Wendy's help and tips using the Copic markers.  It can be tricky figuring out all the blending techniques.  As Wendy would say, "practice, practice, practice".

SSW-3

I especially like her hair and face.   I added some sparkle to her hair and shells with a clear Wink of Stella pen to make them stand out a little.

SSW-4

The second class used a Sugar Pea Designs stamp called Bountiful Blessings.

Both of these stamps are illustrated with the same girl image.  Too, too adorable.

BB-1

OMG!  I love her!  Her freckled face and worn overalls just melt my heart.

BB-5

By the way, a very secret technique is used to make her overalls look used.  So fun!

BB-4

So, I just had to show off a little because I'm happy with the results of my coloring.  I'm ready to pull out all my Sugar Pea Design stamps and color, color, color.  Thanks for taking a look today.

Sugar Pea Designs Sketch 12

I'm feeling the love today.  I wanted to participate in the challenge at Sugar Pea Designs so I used the sketch shown below.

SPDSS12

I flipped through all my Sugar Pea stamps and decided on one of the elements from Pizza My Heart.

Pizza-1

The round image fit perfectly into a stitched circle for the sketch.  I stamped it in Smoky Slate ink and cut another circle from Smoky Slate card stock.  The pattern papers are left over from Stampin' Up! a few years ago.

Pizza-4

I die cut a couple of hearts and added some twine around the gray circle.  I really enjoyed making this card and plan to keep this sketch in my resource album.

Pizza-3

Oh, I mentioned love, right?  This card is for my wonderful husband who definitely has a "pizza my heart".  Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Fall

Happy Fall to Y'all!  I love the fall season.  The cool weather, the pretty trees, warm cider.  Ok, ok, I know I live in Florida now but I still remember the sights and smells.  To keep me thinking about the fall season I made a card today celebrating it.

Purrfect-Day-1

I think this is so cute!  I used a stamp set from Sugar Pea Designs.  It's called "What's Mew?" from the Sweet P Collection.

Store---What's-Mew

Every one of these sentiments work so well with the stamp and also alone or with other Sugar Pea sets.  I have several friends who have cats so I had that in mind when I chose the purrfect day phrase.  The cranberry card base is 5 x 5 1/2".  I wrapped some gold dotted paper with a wide burlap ribbon.  I'm loving that touch, by the way.  After stamping the image a few times on white and pattern paper I pieced parts of it to create a color scheme I wanted.  The girl, shutters, tree branch and windows are all individually cut and glued onto the original white stamped image.

Purrfect-Day-4

It's so nice to use stamps for many different seasons and occasions.

Purrfect-Day-2

I found a label die that I cut and turned upside down to mimic the half moon window on the stamp.  I few small stitched leaf die cuts finished off the card.  I'm entering this card in Sugar Pea Designs SPD09 Challenge.  There is another 10 days or so to enter your card.  I'm hoping to win a $15 gift certificate so that I can buy more Sugar Pea stamps!   Happy, happy fall.
