Coffee Blog Hop Post 3

This is my third post today.  Please scroll down to read the other 2.  I'm participating in a Coffee Blog Hop as its International Coffee Day.  Here is my card.

Coffee-Hop-5

I just returned from Dunkin' Donuts where I got a large iced coffee, decaf.  The sentiment on my card is really cute but if I had a regular coffee I would be up all night.  I'm enjoying it too.

I used to be a designer for Diane's Daydream Designs.  She has the most wonderful digital images, sentiments and paper.  If you've never worked with digital stamps before, you should really give it a try.  Stop by Diane's store.  She has tons of cute things.

Coffee-Hop-6

I love these stacked cups, and they are all over the paper crafting world.  I colored them up with Copic markers and mounted it front and center of some pretty pattern paper.  I used Rich Razzelberry card stock as the card base.  I felt the card needed some shine so I used a Wink of Stella pen.

That's all for me today.  Heading off to watch my Kansas City Chiefs win the Monday Night Football game at Arrowhead Stadium.  Go Chiefs!!!

Coffee Blog Hop Post 2

Who doesn't like Starbucks.  Well, maybe a few but if someone gave them a gift card, especially in this personal holder, I bet they would use it.

Coffee-Hop-2

I know I would.  This stamp is an older MFT one but so perfect for this idea.  I also like the vertical orientation of the gift holder.  It's different and allows for a nice space to decorate and stamp.

Coffee-Hop-3

I'm heading to look at some of the projects that are all linked at Cuts, Crops, Creativity.   I'm hoping to get one more project posted today.  Come back later!

Coffee-Hop

I'm having fun today posting some projects with a coffee theme.  This is a little goodie bag from Lawn Fawn made from kraft paper.  The cute sentiment, cup and spoon are from LF's Love You A Latte stamp and die set.  Wouldn't this make the cutest gift with a couple of K-Cups inside.  Come back in a few hours for another coffee post.

You're Swell

Card sketches are a fun way to get inspiration when the creative juices are not flowing.  You can find sketches all over but one of the companies I go to is Sugar Pea Designs.  I love to work with Wendy's stamps and it's even better when there is an opportunity to win a gift certificate to shop!  So today's card is made featuring the Sugar Sketch Challenge 11.

SPDSS11

I turned the sketch on its side, which is allowed.  I used elements from the Seaside Wishes stamp and made a little scene.  This is my favorite stamp set at Sugar Pea, although I say that about almost every one.  Next month I get the privilege of taking a Copic coloring class from Wendy using this set.  I'm so excited!  She is an excellent colorist and it will be fun to get tips from an expert.  Here is the complete stamp set.

  Store-Seaside-Wishes

I wanted to color up the girl but decided to wait until after my class so that I could do her justice.  I hope so anyway.

You're-Swell-1

As you can see I used the beach shoreline, the sand castle, crab and shells.  The paper I chose sort of reminded me of water bubbles, although I've never seen any that are pink or green.  The card base is Crisp Cantaloupe and I cut a rounded rectangle for the stamped scene.

Youre-Swell-4

It's hard to tell but I used a Wink of Stella clear pen on the white sand and Glossy Accents on the wavy water, shells and the crab's eyes.  I got a little heavy handed on the right eye.  Artistic license, right?

Youre-Swell-5

I even stamped a cute frog image from a separate set called Hello Sunshine.  I thought it was just the perfect finishing touch.

Youre-Swell-2

Thanks for your comments and visiting me today.

Happy Fall Tag

Hi.  I'm back today with a fun tag celebrating the Fall season.  The official start of autumn is September 23.  Even though I live in the Sunshine State of Florida, fall is my favorite time of year.  Everyone loves the smell of crisp air, falling leaves and a never ending display of bright autumn colors.  I've been wanting to make a tag and today was the perfect opportunity.

LF-Sweater-Weather-1

I started with Pretty Pink Posh stitched duo 1 and used the stitched borders 1 to make the pattern hills.  I love the size of this tag because it allows a lot of room to decorate or make a scene.  I cut a second tag from brown card stock and layered it under the ivory one.  The cute little stitched circles come in the set and I decided to use one to tie the tags together.  I love this idea and the way it turned out!

LF-Sweather-Weather-7

Lawn Fawn's new stamp and die set, Sweater Weather, has a lot of fun elements.  I die cut the tree from brown card stock and inlaid the stamped leaf cluster.  I rocked the stamp in a couple of different inks to get the variegated look.

LF-Sweather-Weather-6

Aren't those tiny pumpkins so cute!  They even have their own dies.

LF-Sweather-Weather-8

So, Happy Fall everyone!

Love You A Latte, Special Friend

Special friends only come along once in a lifetime.  I am blessed to have the best special friend in the world.  According to Merriam Webster's Dictionary a friend is a person who you like and enjoy being with.  A person who helps or supports someone.  A favored companion.  These are good descriptions but the meaning of a true friend goes much deeper.  It is two people who bond and connect through life, helping each other cope with the good and bad.  It's that person you can honestly tell anything to and she won't judge you, belittle you or think you're crazy.  She has the biggest shoulder you can cry on and the biggest heart that holds all your joys and failures.  As I said, a once in a lifetime friend.

I have one.  She is so good to me that I can't stand it sometimes.  She would say, "It works both ways."  And it does.  I've been there for her too.  But isn't it funny that all we think about is the special things our friend does for us?  Recently, my friend did just that.  She sent me coffee!  Now you say, what!  Coffee.  That's not anything special.  But you see, it wasn't just coffee.  It was a part of her.  Someone I love.  Someone I miss. So, I made a card to thank her.

LF-Love-you-Latte-2

Very appropriate I thought.

LF-Love-you-Latte-5

I used a cute new stamp set from Lawn Fawn called Love You A Latte.  It has different cups, complete with different faces, a saucer, spoon and several sentiments.  And, of course, matching dies.  That makes it so easy to stamp and cut out the elements you choose.  My friend loves blue so of course I wanted to use that color.  I love the argyle paper with the blue pattern paper.  It looks so clean and fresh.

LF-Love-you-Latte-4

I know she loved the card but I also know she FELT the love in the card.  That's why I take the time to make cards.  I hope I can transfer some of the love I feel to the person I send my cards to.  Like the slogan at Hallmark.  "When you care enough to send the very best."  K, you are the BEST

Butterfly Anniversary

I like to celebrate love.  It's so nice to be happy for a couple who recognize that Jehovah God is the originator of marriage and the first family on earth.  Married couples who base their relationship on the Bible are very wise.  Jehovah has our best interests at heart and his advice and counsel always works.  Proverbs 3:5,6 says, "Trust in Jehovah with all your heart, And do not rely on your own understanding."  So, I'm happy to make special cards for my friends who also celebrate their love.  Here is a recent card I made for some new friends.

Big-Butterfly-1

I used a chocolate chip card base and added a panel of white.  This set the tone for the dramatic paper I used.  It's Bo Bunny Gabriella Collection.  I think it's an older paper pack from my stash.  I used distress ink to soften edges.  I then cut a large butterfly image from one of the matching papers and inked the edges with a honey color.  I covered the entire butterfly with a clear Wink of Stella pen.

Big-Butterfly-3

The sparkle and shine doesn't show up in the photo but it is really pretty.  After I let it dry I curled the wings with a pencil and mounted it front and center.  I drew antenna with a white gel marker.

Big-Butterfly-4

The Bible tells us, "Do not be anxious over anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication along with thanksgiving, let your petitions by made known to God."  This applies in the marriage arrangement and in life.  If we let Jehovah be a part of our marriage it has a true chance of being successful.

Big-Butterfly-2

So, happy anniversary friends everywhere!
