You Bring Out The Happy In Me

I've got a sweet card for you today that should put a smile on your face.  We live in such a negative world that it's nice when we can balance that with positive thoughts and ideas.  I read the Bible almost every day and I also refer to a publication that helps me meditate on a scripture daily.  Today's text is from Proverbs 4:23.

"More than all else that is to be guarded, safeguard your heart."

Our heart is our inner self.  Our desires, thoughts, motivations and goals.  Our friends have a great influence on our hearts.  I'm in the process of meeting and getting to know several new friends.  I made this card to honor a friend and let her know that I love her bubbly, positive personality.  She is a sharer with me in Christian worship and I think we are going to become close.

Happy-2

She loves pink and I love hearts so I blended the two with the paper I chose.  I die cut the pretty flowers and layered the petals to create a fuller effect.  How about the pretty brad I had in my stash for the center?  Nice touch I think.  I love the sentiment.  I'm very glad that her positive outlook on the future helps me be happy too.

Happy-3

Why not try to be positive and maybe you can bring out the happy in someone else.

SPDSS02

I'm back!!!  Finally, after 3 long months I am in my groove again.  We moved long distance to another state and downsized a lot.  It's good to have less "stuff" but it's also an adjustment when it comes time to craft.  I no longer have a dedicated space.  It would have been a hilarious video of the many trips back and forth from my cabinets for supplies to my workspace.   This too will pass as I adjust to my new surroundings.  So, moving on to my post for today.

I have been a big fan of Sugar Pea Designs ever since they announced the opening of their company and store.  Their first release was in January and the new May release is just over.  I absolutely love their stamps and the design team is one of the best I've seen.  I knew that the first card I would create would be with one of their stamps.  Today I chose "Hats Off To You" for two reasons.  I have a nephew who is graduating high school and I feel it's very important to acknowledge education achievements.  Also, I won this stamp set when I participated in commenting during the April release!  How fun is that!

I'm entering this card in Sugar Pea's Sketch Challenge.

I love how the card turned out but I don't love my photo.  I'm going to have to experiment with other areas of my house to get better lighting.  My nephew's school colors are maroon and gold so I incorporated that into the card.  I love this globe stamp and felt it gave the scholarly look I was after.  The cute diploma is a separate stamp and it was easy to pop it up for dimension.

Grad-2

Now, I forgot to take any photos of the inside of the card!  I told you I was still working on my routine.  It's too late as I've already mailed it.  I used the cute young man image dressed in his cap and gown and spread it across the entire inside space.  I colored the gown maroon and he has a gold V sash at his neck.  I stamped ALL the sentiments in black to the right of the image.  It really turned out very classy.

Heading to work on another fun card creation.  See you soon!
