Happy Anniversary

I needed to make an anniversary card for a special couple and I decided to do it all fancy.

Anniversary-RR-1

I started with a white card base of 6 x 6.  I layered a mat of red glitter paper on top.  Don't you just love how you can buy paper like that now?  I used some specialty dies from Spellbinders and cut 4 corners of the white card stock.  The next layer is a white mat set on the diagonal with another layer of glitter paper.

Anniversary-RR-3

A matching square flourish die sits on the red paper and finally a sentiment stamped on the diagonal to complete the card.  I added a double satin bow and a red velvet brad and then put tiny white pearls on some of the flourish pieces.

Anniversary-RR-4

Since I was mailing this card I wanted it to arrive in pristine condition.  I wrapped the entire card in tissue paper and then slipped it into a padded envelope.  I know the couple who celebrated their 42nd anniversary last week really enjoyed the extra touch of a handmade card.

The Joy of Friendship

When I first started paper crafting I took some classes led by a creative, positive lady.  That was over 9 years ago.  I really enjoy my card making and am grateful for the help and encouragement of the lady who first got me started.  She and I became friends and we have been through several adventurous projects together.  She owns her own digital stamp company called Diane's Daydream Designs.  She is a talented illustrator and business woman.  I'm also proud to call Diane Noble my friend.  The card I made today has an image from the Let It Snow color set available in her store.  22 digital images for $5.00!!!

I printed the snow mama and child on white cardstock and cut it out.  I used some background papers from Echo Park Wintertime to make a funky scene.  I dotted some white glue on the snow section and randomly covered it with tiny silver crystals.  A pretty white flocked ribbon runs down the side with teal matte brad snowflakes accents.

I used one of the Friendship Collection Sentiments on the front and matted it to stand out.

What a joy to have you for a friend Diane!

For the inside of the card, I chose another sentiment from the Friendship Collection and matted it with some matching paper.

Diane and I don't have the opportunity to get together as much as we used to but we still keep in touch, especially with each other's blogs.  Please check out Diane's store.  I'm sure you will find lots of fun and pretty images you can use in your projects.

Thanks for stopping in.
