From The Heart Stamps Sketch #34

I'm entering a Card Sketch Challenge at From The Heart Stamps.  Hop on over to get the sketch and enter.  You have until Sunday night to post your project.

So, here's my card.

You might wonder why I made a beachy summer card when fall is almost here.  Some really good friends have their anniversary next month and they are going to Anna Maria Island in Florida and will stay at a condo for a whole week.  I am so jealous.  Anyway, I wanted to make a card that would celebrate their anniversary and also be a reminder of their trip.  The cute Sea Turtle Beach image is what I printed on white cardstock.  I layered the sentiment under the image right where I wanted.  That's the beauty of working with digital stamps.  I colored it using Copic markers and some glitter pens.  I sponged the background with some distress ink and added a die cut sun that has lots of sparkles.

Did you notice the two little hearts in the sandpail?  Perfect for a romantic beach getaway.

After I finished the card I wasn't entirely sure I fulfilled the sketch challenge so I made sure when I put together the inside.

My orange sun with the clouds peeking over really completed the card.  From the Heart Stamps has lots of cute images.  Check it out!

From the Heart Stamps Project

Hi everyone.  I have a really fun project for you today.  I found the cutest digital stamps at a company called From the Heart.  Anyone who knows me realizes that I am in LOVE with hearts.  I use them on anything and everything and at all times of the year.  Maybe it has something to do with the fact that my maiden name was Hart.  So when I saw the designs at this company I just flipped.  Right away I purchased this digital stamp called Fall Mailbox.

Fall Mailbox

Just look at that cute bird with the heart!  I thought about a project that I could make with this image and here's what I did.

I reworked a box template I had to make it taller and cut it out of heavy kraft paper.  I covered each panel with some pretty fall pattern paper and then assembled the box using sookwang tape.  I took the digital image and resized it to fit on one panel of the box.  After printing it I colored it with Copic markers.  I decided to cut the image and mount it with foam tape to give some dimension.

I found some pretty ribbon that coordinated with the color scheme and that helped add some texture.  I printed the sentiment really small (it comes with the stamp) and used a punch and some rustic twine to tie it to the mailbox image.

Wouldn't this be the cutest favor at a fall family picnic?  All kinds of treats could be put into the box.  I'm imagining caramel corn, ingredients for s'mores or mixed nuts.  I can also imagine a big bonfire and lots of family fun.

So, go check out From the Heart Stamps and I know you'll find something that will be just right for your next project.
