December Calendar Page

My Daydream Designs December calendar page is sweet and girly.  I recolored the actual calendar to a pretty purple to match the Snowbabies Color Digi Set.

Of course it was simple to insert the aqua snowbaby and bucket of snowballs from the selection of images in the set.  You can see above the one I picked.  Then I added the purple dressed snowbaby and resized her to be smaller and younger.  On the right side I chose the purple bucket of snowballs.  Ok, now can you see what else I used from the set?  There is actually a png file that is just falling snow!  I put in one layer and because I didn't want to resize the snowflakes (it would distort them too much) I added another layer of falling snow but this time I rotated it upside down so the snow would be more random.  A couple of individual snowballs fit nicely next to the purple bucket.  The sentiment is from Snow Fun Sentiments, recolored purple to match.

As I write this we have snow in the forecast and it may actually be snowing when this post goes live.  I hope so.  Because as the sentiment set says,

"May happiness cover your day like sparkling snow".

I'm going to wait until tomorrow to show you the full calendar because the finish is still drying on the stand I painted.  It will be just the right day to start using it!

November Calendar Page

Back today with my calendar page for the month of November.  Every month's design has been created with images from Daydream Designs.  I think I can say that November's page is my favorite.  The background paper is from the Fall Digi Paper Pack.  It's sort of a rustic grunge look.  It's the top 3rd paper from the left.

Then I started creating the scene for the page.  The calendar is the same one I've used for the whole year.  It's the 2013 mini calendar files.  I recolored it to a bright red orange.  I inserted the tree image from Owl Always Love You Color Digi Set.  Then I had the most fun adding the owls that are sitting on the branches.

By using the png files I could layer them to give the impression that their feet were really on the branch.  Here's a close-up photo.

Aren't they adorable!  I could even rotate the owls so that they were at the right angle for the particular branch they sat on.  At the bottom of the tree I added baskets of leaves and gourds from the Bushel and a Peck Colorized Set.

Tomorrow is the page for December and I will show off the entire calendar, complete with the stand.  See you then.

October Calendar Page

I have a special place in my heart for the Breast Cancer Awareness cause.  So, each October I support that cause as much as I can.  It should be no surprise that my calendar page would reflect that.

I used sets from Daydream Designs.  Hope Endures Sentiment Pack Pink has the scallops that I used to frame the sides of the calendar.  I just turned them on the side and resized them to fit the length of the calendar.   The green scallop was the basis for the pink flowers on a stem that march along the top border.

This set is only one of several that's available, not only for breast cancer awareness, but other important health issues.  I used some of the digital papers for cards I made in October.  You can always look at these posts by clicking on the Archives button on the right sidebar.

"Owl" be really happy if you stop by tomorrow to see my November page.

September Calendar Page

Fall is just beginning in September but it's the start of crisp evenings, bonfires and leaves turning all red and golden.  It's also the time that apples ripen to that golden or red color just right for picking and especially for eating.  Today's page is about honoring that time.

I can taste the crunch of apple flesh with the sweet juiciness running down my chin.  My scene was put together using Daydream Designs School Days Color Digi Set.  I used the shadowed basket of apples and then layered the yellow plaid ones at the bottom.  The set comes with so many images that are perfect for other September themes.  Books, a school bus, a desk, chalkboards, lunch pails and sacks.  29 designs for $5.95!!!!!  Just think of how many projects you could make with all the images.  Back to school teacher gifts, a family school calendar to keep straight all the students activities, etc.

Now is a good time to get started on your digital projects since it's the cold winter months.  Then you'll be ready to go pick apples!

August Calendar Page

Hi.  I'm back today with the August calendar page.  I've had a fun time creating this calendar using images from Daydream Designs.  I purchased some gray paint for my wood calendar stand and I think it will be a nice neutral for all the months.  I will have a photo when I get to December's page.

The scripture sentiment and butterflies come together in a set called Dream Team Scripture Set 3.  Daydream Designs has an amazing design team.  We all work together so well and are really creative individually.  Please visit their blogs and leave them an encouraging comment.  All the team member names are listed on the right side of my blog.  There are 2 other Dream Team Scripture Sets.  Each of the team members contributed our favorite and our Dream Team leader, Diane Noble, combined them to create these beautiful sets.

Again, I used the Darling Dots Dazzles paper as my background.  It's just the best summery page!  It was so fast to put together that I decided to do another one.

2 for July

Back again today with my July calendar page.  I have been creating and posting all my pages for the 2013 calendar using images and papers from Daydream Designs.  July brings thoughts of cool water and fun times, especially with family and friends.  Interestingly enough, I found the images for July in the Bitty Baby Boy color set.

See the sailboat?  I worked the same image together to create the scene.  Working with digital images makes it really easy to do this.  The files come in both jpeg and png so you have the option of layering and resizing.  The sentiment I used is from the Friendship Collection.

So, I said I had a surprise.  Yesterday's June page featured a fence, sunflowers and blackbird.  I wanted to see how the same scene would look just by changing the background.  I deleted the rainbow paper background and inserted the yellow and white paper from Darling Dots Dazzles paper pack.  And, wow!  A completely different look.

Don't you just love it!!!  This is the perfect time to start thinking about putting calendars together for yourself and for gifts.  When it's this easy, there is NO excuse.

See you tomorrow.

Halfway There Now

Today's calendar page is for the month of June.  Of course, June is "busting out all over" with summer color and sunshine.  Once in a while a rain shower may come along and with it a pretty rainbow.  That thought led me to creating my page.  I used paper from Daydream Designs.  Nest to Sky was my choice.  This is a paper from a pack that coordinates with my bird images from the May calendar page from yesterday.  I resized it to fit my 6" x 6" background and I was ready to go.

I recolored the calendar to a pretty aqua color to stand out from the background.  The scene I created was easy.  The images are from Pumpkins and Sunflowers.

I used the connecting fence and put two together to fit the space.  I then started layering the sunflowers in front.  I resized them to different heights so it seemed very real.  I added the blackbird at the end of the fence.  He's waiting for the seeds to ripen fully before plucking them to eat!  Think of the possibilities with this set of images.  You get 11 for $3.95.  You must take a peek tomorrow.  There will be a surprise.

May Calendar Page

Before I get to today's calendar page, I must make an announcement.  Today is my husband and I's 46th wedding anniversary!!!  He is truly my partner and friend.  We share the same goals and Christian principles and I am happy we are together.  Our son treated us to dinner at Cheesecake Factory and we received the most amazing gifts.  The best gift in the world, however, is that he is doing well.  I couldn't be more proud.  Thank you Chris!!!

Ok, tell me if this isn't cute!  These little birds are singing "Spring is here".  Everyone loves late spring.  By this time, pansies are putting on their little faces, trees are in full leaf and birds are making nests and raising families.  Nest to Sky digi set by Daydream Designs was the inspiration for today's calendar page.  I merged two tree branches to create a bird family.  Father, mother and babies.  Again, I layered the png images to create the scene.

The baby birds are so plump and round.  Almost ready to fly from the nest.  This will be a fun page to look at the whole month.  There is an outline set if you want to color your own images and the papers are GORGEOUS.  So many beautiful patterns, all ready for your spring projects.

I think the pink and yellow plaid and the rainbow papers are my favorite.  Hum, you might see one of these papers in a calendar page coming up.  Be sure to stop by tomorrow.  You won't want to miss the June page!
