So now, on to my polka dot project.  I have been seeing these french fry boxes on several of the blogs I visit.  I've been dying to make some.  I used THIS template.  I traced it onto some medium weight cardboard so it would hold up and be a permanent part of my craft supplies.  Daydream Designs has some NEW digi papers and images and they were perfect for this project.  I printed off three sheets of paper for my 3 boxes.  Darling Dots-Brights in small purple.  Darling Dots-Dazzle in small teal.  And Winter Chill-Funky Circles.  I love these bright, fun colors for winter projects.  Aren't they gorgeous!

I used Whisper White cardstock to print the papers.  I then traced the box template onto the printed paper.  It's easy to cut out the box and fold the sides in.  I used some sticky tape to attach the sides so that it would be stronger.  I wound some twine and ribbon around each box.  Ok.  Now here's the really easy part.  I opened the "Sisters" image in Snowbabies color digi set, resized it to fit on the front of the box, added some words from the Snow Fun sentiment set, and printed it.  It's a cinch to copy and paste my snowbabies and sentiment so that I could have 3 images exactly the same.

Ok now, what girls or young women or even ladies wouldn't love some "me" time with cute manicure sets like these.

I got all these little goodies at the dollar store.  What a diva day I'm going to have with my friends!

These are SO easy to make!  I printed the papers, the images and put these 3 together in about 30 minutes.  Wouldn't they be wonderful favors for a winter party.  Let's see.  I'm imagining candy kisses, andes mints, (the green wrapping paper would be perfect) chex mix, mini pretzels, etc., etc., etc.

Don't forget to comment on each design team members blogs to be eligible for one of three prizes given away by Daydream Designs.  The winner will be announced later this week.  YOU might be creating projects with these fantastic papers and images!!!

Winter Card Set and Accordian Holder

I have been busy with lots of projects lately.  I am also getting a facelift for my website.  I will have new merchandise for sale and a surprise announcement tomorrow.

Today, however, I want to show you a set of winter cards I made along with a accordian file holder to keep them neat.

It was difficult to get all the cards and holder in the photo.  You can see most of the cards here and the holder is tucked in the background.

Isn't this a great place to store all your pretty cards!  It was fairly easy to put together.  The holder is about 9 x 12.  It's basically a decorated front and back with pleated sides and a flat bottom.  I used some wintery paper, cardstock letters and sticker elements to emphasize the theme.  I cut some coordinating cardstock and scalloped the edges to make the transition between the two pattern sections.

This is the back of the holder.  Why should it be plain?  I punched out an oval shape to make a handle.

Here you can see the side with the pleated cardstock.  I attached it with sticky tape to the front and back.  Now for the cards.

This card has a pocket that holds a tag.

And finally,

This set of cards and matching holder to carry them would make a perfect gift for someone.  Ready made cards for you or them to send out to friends all winter.

Happy Anniversary

I love making anniversary cards.  It's a happy time for couples to celebrate their special day.

This particular couple has a cat and at one time had two, so they will appreciate the sweet image on this card.  It's a large Penny Black stamp so I made the card 5 x 5.  I colored up the kitties and matted it with Really Rust cardstock.  I love the stripe paper and felt it gave the card a modern look.

Don't you just love their sweet faces!

I stamped a traditional message inside.

The die cut flower and leaves give it some dimension.

So, here's to love and happiness to all!

Here Kitty Kitty

I have a combination card and fun treat sack for you today.  A stamp of a princess kitty was the inspiration for this project.  Her name is Willow and she is available at

 Your Next Stamp.

Don't you agree she is a princess?  Sitting on her pillow throne and a matching bow collar.  I had a few scraps of this pattern paper with the paw prints on it.  I don't even know the name or company but it was the perfect accent for the card.  I also love the scallops on the edge.  They are so girly!

Every girl needs some "goodies" so I created a matching treat bag.  This was so easy.  I just used 2 pieces of cardstock and scored each at the bottom about 1/2 inch, folded it under and fit a small cellophane bag between them.  I decorated the front and put a small amount of adhesive at the top to keep the bag together.

Ok, I don't even have a cat.  I had to go out and buy some treats!  And how adorable.  I found some in a heart shape.  I couldn't believe it.  You must know by now that I LOVE hearts.  This was even an off brand.  I am so happy with the way this turned out.  And, the treats will be put to good use.  I have several friends who have cats and what a nice way to recognize a special pet in their life.

I know that the princess kitties (and even the prince kitties) will not appreciate these projects but your friends will.  Pets are a source of comfort and support for us.  Especially during times of stress.  So give yours an extra squeeze today!
