Gingerloft April Freebie Challenge

Hi everyone.  What a cute image for today's challenge.  And it's FREE!!!  Head over to Gingerloft Digi Stamps and download your koala bear and start your own creation.

Here's the card I made.  I kept the coloring really simple so the bear is the focal point of the card.  I actually printed this a few times before I came up with just the right size.  So nice to have that option with digital stamps.

Need Hug?

This cutie is all ready to put his arms around you and squeeze tight.

Cornish Heritage Farms Blog Hop

Welcome to Cornish Heritage Farms blog hop!  Tonight is the release of new rubber stamps and the excitement has been building all week.  If you didn't start at the beginning of the hop, you might want to head on over to the Cornish Heritage Farms Blog so that you don't miss out on any of the special goodies.  This month we have 17 background stamps, 3 ATC sets, 2 individual Rummage Bin stamps and 3 Rummage Bin stamp sets being released.

Besides all the design inspiration you will see tonight, other specials are available just for tonight.  There is a "First 24 Special".  You will receive 15% off all orders that are placed within the first 24 hours of the new release, which is RIGHT NOW.  As you travel from blog to blog to each of the CHF Design Team Members be sure to leave a comment on each blog.   We will be giving away one new CHF stamp to a random person who leaves a comment on their blog!  So get ready.  Let's go!

Here's my first card of the evening.

This card features one of the new background stamps being released tonight.  It's called  Lined Paper and it is perfect for lots of great projects.  I used it on this card along with one of the popular Mushroom Lane digital images; this one is the school house.

This entire project came together so perfectly, especially when you have the perfect stamps!  I colored the school house with Copic markers using colors that reflected the paper I chose.  The patterned paper has a tiny alphabet and also lines like on notebook paper.  The background stamp is the base that anchors the entire card.  Wouldn't a teacher just love this as a notebook to use for the next school year?  A really perfect gift for a special teacher.  Here's what the new release stamp looks like.

My second card tonight features another Mushroom Lane house.  I love these images!  It's so much fun to color and to use on projects.  This card is one that I submitted to CHF when I applied to the new design team.  Obviously, it was a winner!  It's one of my favorite cards.

How proud I am to use the watermark with my name as part of Cornish Heritage Farms.

Now that you've seen my creations, hop on over to Cornish Heritage Farms Store and stock up with new stamps so you can make your own fantastic creations!

Only One More Day!

This is the last sneak peek before tomorrow's release and blog hop at Cornish Heritage Farms.  It's going to be exciting!!!  The new stamps being released will be available on Thursday, April 19th at 9pm CST.  Plesase join the entire design team as we hop around to see new projects and ideas.  This month we have 17 background stamps, 3 ATC sets, 2 individual Rummage Bin stamps and 3 Rummage Bin sets for sale.  There is a special discount available if an order is placed within the first 24 hours of the release.  Let's just say it's generous!

Today's card features a digital stamp already available on CHF's website.  I absolutely love this image!  So cute, so many ways to use it.  I picked the perfect sentiment to go with the image.  Also available right now.  Earlier in the week I mentioned some of the advantages of using digital images.  For the one today, I wanted it to be printed in brown ink to go with the paper I decided on.  So, no problem.  In Word or Publisher there is an option to change the ink color to whatever you want.  Just click and it's done!  See how cute the card turned out.

Now, all you animal lovers out there.  Hurry and download this cat queen image so you can make your own cards.  Wow!  Another advantage of digital images.  Never out of stock!

Don't know if you can tell but the brown patterned paper is polka dots and kittie paw prints.  Cute, cute, cute.

Ok, come back tomorrow night and share all the fun with the design team members as we have the final unveiling of the new stamps.  See you then!

Sneak Peek Day 2

Day 2 of the April Release of new rubber stamps is here.  The Sneak Peeks started yesterday.  If you didn't get a chance to see all the design team's projects you can slip off your shoes and relax with lots of inspiration.  The peeks will continue until Thursday, April 19th at 9pm CST.  Cornish Heritage Farms has 17 new background stamps, 3 Artist Trading Card sets, 2 individual Rummage Bin stamps and 3 Rummage Bin sets that will be released.  So come join the fun as we take you on a journey to discover what's good at CHF.

I have the most exciting stamp set to show off today.  It's one of the 3 new ATC stamps!  It's called "Bicycle Life".  The images are of vintage bicycles and old product tins.  Here's a photo of the complete set.

I'm going to show you the inside of my card first.  It showcases the ATC that's included in the stamp set.  ATC's are very popular among craft enthusiasiasts.  They are miniature works of art about the size of baseball cards that fit into standard card collector pockets or sheets.  There are entire magazines and websites devoted entirely to the trading passion.

Now here's what I did.  I made the ATC to be sent with a regular card.  I matted the ATC but affixed it with removable adhesive so that my trading buddy can save it.  It's important that these cards are personalized so I wrote my name and city on the back.

The front of the card uses one of the stamps from the same set.  I inked the edges of all the papers with distress ink to keep that vintage look going.  Did you notice the printed green paper has circles that remind me of bicycle spokes.  Pretty clever, huh?

Don't forget to check out all the Cornish Heritage Farms Design Team's blogs for more sneak peeks everyday!  New Release Stamps will be available in the Cornish Heritage Farms Store on Thursday, April 19th at 9pm CST.  That is also the time for our blog hop where 2 cards from each designer will be featured along with prizes and a special discount offer.  Several of the digital stamps are already available.  See you tomorrow!

Sneak Peek Day Starts Now!

Today is the start of Cornish Heritage Farms April Release and Blog Hop.  Follow me every day to see what new and exciting creations I have to share with you.  The week will end with New Release Stamps which will be available Thursday, April 19th at 9pm CST.

This month the release will include 17 background stamps, 3 ATC (Artist Trading Card) sets, 2 individual Rummage Bin stamps and 3 Rummage Bin sets.

Also on Thursday, April 19th at 9pm CST you are invited to join us for our release Blog Hop.  The hop will start on the Cornish Heritage Farms Blog .  Ok, let's get started.

My card today features one of the new background stamps, Chicken Wire.  This is a stamp that inspires creation.  I decided to use a watercolored paper that would allow the wire image to pop off the page.  From there it was easy to come up with the rest of the card design.  This is an excellent background stamp to use for lots of project ideas.  I'm thinking a garden journal.

The main image of my card features the Two Bunnies digital stamp.  CHF features BOTH rubber (new releases) and digital stamps!  I just love how easy and fun it was to color these bunnies.  I printed it on cream cardstock with black ink from my home printer.  I'll show you how important that is on a card later in the week.  No need to leave home.  Also, it's so nice because the image can be resized on your computer to fit whatever project you're making.

I really love this card!  I chose bright, vibrant colors but it would look nice in pastels too.  Now, be sure to look on the right sidebar for all the design team members.  Click on all the links to see what projects are featured on other blogs.  There will be sneak peeks every day with all the designers!  See you tomorrow.

Gingerloft Challenge Black, white and a dash of red.

Such a fun challenge this time at Gingerloft.  When I first thought of what to design, it seemed it might be difficult.  But all I had to do was scroll through the images on Gingerloft's website and inspiration hit.  This image of the black birds on barbed wire was the perfect digital stamp to use.  I came across a card from a long time ago and it had the exact colors of this challenge.  I decided to use the same "recipe" for the birds card.

The original card had a scalloped border on the bottom but I thought that something different was needed.  I found a Martha Stewart punch and now that it's on the card it couldn't have been a more perfect touch.  I also love the way the red, black and white pop off the card and make it very striking.  This certainly could be a masculine card, which is necessary sometimes.  Don't you think the extra bling at the top finishes it off?

This image is also available with just the birds in outline form.  You actually get both images for one tiny price!  Head on over to Gingerloft and browse around.  There are lots of images to choose from.

My Favorite Things Weekly Sketch Challenge #66

It's been a while since I entered the weekly sketch challenge for My Favorite Things.  I was really feeling the need to create in my craft room so here's what I came up with.

Here's the sketch photo.

Now you may say, the card doesn't look like the sketch, but let me break it down for you.  First, I used Authentique papers, the Blissful Collection.  Love the soft dreamy colors of this paper line.  I also used So Saffron and Saraha Sand cardstock from Stampin' Up! to coordinate with the patterned paper.  As I was picking through my MFT stamps I came across this little lamb.  It's called, Where Flowers Bloom.  It literally spoke to me.  Since the lamb image was spread out horizontally I decided to use an oval shape instead of round as the sketch shows.  It's called being creative after all.  I used the new Oval Stax dies to cut the perfect size for the stamped image and a mat to go with it.  This is the first time I've used these and I am LOVING how easy it is.

Each Stax set comes with 7 pieces.  You only need one but it's so more fun to have both sets.  14 ovals that nest inside each other!  Genius.  So, back to my interpretation of the sketch.  I felt like the flag and scallop piece would have been too busy for the outside, with all I had going on.  So, I decided to finish off the sketch on the inside.

I love it almost as much as the front!!!  I was practicing my coloring of the lamb image and decided it looked really good.  So I cut it out and popped it up with dimensionals.  The sentiment comes with the lamb stamp set and I thought it was perfect.  Hope you've enjoyed my tour of a special card for a special someone.
