Make it Monday #80: Making Garland

Papertrey Ink has challened us this week to make any shape into a trendy garland to put on our project.  I have managed to think outside the box and came up with this idea.

I started with a Dark Chocolate cardstock base and a standard A2 card size.  I stamped some leaves from The Sweet Life set onto New Leaf cardstock and matted it with Vintage Cream.  The Sweet Life stamp set has several leaf sizes and the solid leaf is stamped first.  The matching leaf veins are stamped over the solid and it's practically foolproof.

Now for my garland.  I found some vintage stringed tags and decided to use them for this project.  I used the tiny veins of one of the stamps for the inside of the tags.  I colored the stamp with Copics and stamped right on the tag.  So this is my take on the garland challenge.  I like how the tags dangle freely and give the card motion.

I wanted to continue the theme on the inside so I used Lovely Layers and created a one-of-a-kind flower.  The sentiment is also from this set and fits the feeling of the card.

  1. Very classy! I love anything with leaves anyway, but this is totally gorgeous! LOVE it.

  2. Well, I think you answered this challenge quite well. It's a lovely card on the inside and outside.
