I love teachers. I love what they do, what they stand for, and the extreme effort they put forth in helping their students in the learning process. We all know that teachers don't get the recognition and salary they deserve. To that end, I want to do my part. I don't have children in school. I don't even have grandchildren in school. I am past the age where I have any interaction with school and all its activities. We have a small elementary school here in our little town of Peculiar. I have contacted them and they are sending me an email with a wish list the 1st grade teachers have put together. So, we'll see how this works out and I will keep you posted.
In the meantime, I've put together a tin for the wish lists from the teachers. I started with a tall cookie tin.
I covered it with red cardstock and yellow pattern paper. The lid has a cardboard circle base, red cardstock and a red stitched ribbon.
Now the fun part starts. Daydream Designs has the perfect digital images for this project. The set, School Suppies, has all the elements to put together your own school card, scrapbook layout, or altered project. I used 2 of the images from the set of 12 designs for the price of $4.95. If you're not familiar with digital images, let me tell you the infinite possibilities. First, you don't need space to store the stamp set. It stays on your computer. One of the special things you can do is resize and manipulate the images to the exact needs of your project. I'll tell you more about that in a minute.
I thought this Vintage School House image reflected the entire theme so I wanted to put it on the top. Isn't it adorable? It was fun coloring it BUT Daydream Designs also carries a colorized version so you don't even have to use markers!!!

The photos above show different sides of the tin. The apple flashcard image is from School Days Flashcards. I just love these! So many uses. I personalized the paint tray image to suit my project. First, I resized each image to fit the area exactly how I wanted. Then I added the red text box to the lid of the paint tray and wrote in the name of the school. You can only do these kinds of special techniques with digital images. No need to worry about how to's. Daydream Designs provides an instruction sheet with each digital purchase.
New digital sets, some in color, new paper, and new sentiments are in the store NOW. I have to get "daydreaming" about my next project!
