Paper Bead Bracelets

I have a different paper project to show you today.  Last weekend I participated in Papertrey Ink's Stamp-A-Faire.  It was an online seminar with crafters around the world.  We were taught new techniques and fun projects.  One of the projects was making beads out of paper and using them to make a bracelet.  We were provided special paper that is new and won't be available until September.  Here's a photo.

As you can see, the paper pad has 6 different designs.  It's very thin paper, similiar to origami paper.  It will be available in this green/blue combination and also a pink/orange combination.  PI will also be selling a special die to cut the papers so that they are the correct size to make the beads.  The paper is so thin several sheets can be die cut at one time.

The paper trianges are covered on the back with a glue stick and then rolled around a wooden skewer.  A coat of clear nail polish is applied to seal and harden the paper.

So cool, right?  I can't wait to get some of the pink/orange paper.  After all, a Pink Posh girl has to have a pink bracelet!  Then the fun part begins.  Using regular jewelry making supplies, a clasp and other beads are added to design a special bracelet that is one of a kind.  I made one for myself using four paper beads, because my wrist is pretty small.  Then I made another one for my special friend.

Love, love, love!

Aren't you jealous?  Don't you wish you had one?  Drool, drool.

  1. Oh, my goodness...this is amazing! I love your jewelry. My grandmother used to make something like it years ago...but it wasn't finished like that. STUNNING!
