Hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend. It is so very hot here in KC. 107 today. We are having Las Vegas weather except with lots of humidity. The best thing about today is the gallon of fresh blueberries I got at the local farm that grows them every year. Can't you just taste a blueberry cobbler! Yum.
On to my card for today. I must have baking on the brain because that is the theme I used for my project that I'm submitting for the July Guest Designer at My Favorite Things. The challenge is to create a card using a specific sketch.
As soon as I saw the little banners I knew I wanted to use MFT's Bon Appetit stamp set and matching die-namics. Aren't they the cutest little jars! I played around with the papers in a My Minds Eye paper pad called "Life of the Party". One of the papers has these adorable cupcakes and that became the background for my card.
The rest of the card came together so easy. I used the die to cut out the baking elements and mounted them "in" the jars. I found the perfect Honeydew color of twine and wrapped it at the top of the jars. The Pure Innocence girl is the main image from the Fresh from the Oven stamp set. I colored her with Copics and paper pieced her chefs hat, apron and outfit. I stamped the sentiment from the same set and cut it out with a fishtail STAX die. The card measures 5 1/2 x 5 1/2. I needed all that space to make it fit.
There are always fantastic entries in this contest but I hope my card has at least a "cupcakes" chance.
Bye for now. Have to get in the kitchen and make that blueberry cobbler!
